Sea Girt
The famous Jersey Shore is just one of the many reasons people come to New Jersey. Sea Girt, a beachfront town was founded in 1875. In the summer, thousands crowd the Sea Girt beaches for some sun and surfing, while others choose to spend their days walking along the boardwalk, enjoying a spectacular view of the Atlantic Ocean. Golfers can spend summer days on the various public golf courses located within minutes of the area.
The Sea Girt Light House is at the north end of town, and it holds many events every season like the New Jersey Light House Challenge and International Light House Weekend. The Sea Girt Light House is located at Ocean Avenue and Beacon Boulevard, and its one of 20 lighthouses still standing today in New Jersey. Just down the block is the famous Parker House where Jersey Shore visitors have met for generations. The Real Estate market* in Sea Girt this year is a surprising contrast to what we hear about on the national news. In 2010 sales were a little better in Sea Girt with 27 single family homes sold through August compared to 20 for the same time 2009. The average sale price for homes in Sea Girt was lower at 1,213,879.
As of September there are 36 homes on the market in Sea Girt ranging from $575,000 to $5,950,000 compared to last year's 27 homes on the market in September.
